The idea for @henrysgingerbeer is from the husband's memory of the delicious ginger beer his mother used to make. After searching through old notebooks, the couple found a rough recipe and spent six months developing the recipe into a commercial product. This grant will fund the expansion of a local ginger beer brewery to increase their productivity and employ local tradesmen. Their aim is to create something uniquely Tasmanian and synonymous with their small town, Penguin , 7316. #AustraliaConnected, #Australia, #Tasmania, #postcode7316, #OurNeighbourhood, #gingerbeer.
We’re excited to announce that we have received a very generous $5000 grant from the Australia Post, Our Neighbourhood Small Business Grants.
Henry’s Ginger Beer is intrinsically linked to our neighbourhood. At first people would ask “where is this made” and we would proudly say ‘Penguin’, now the question is more often ”is this the ginger beer from Penguin”.
Being located in a small regional town has the benefit that as our business grows it has a positive impact on our community through partnerships with other local businesses and trades people, employment and promotion. This grant will enable our small brewery to increase our production capacity through the purchase of an essential piece of equipment. Our goals are to double our production over the next twelve months to meet demand from stockists around the state and on the mainland.
We are focused on designing more efficient production systems that will allow us to retain our traditional techniques – which are paramount to why our ginger beers taste so good. We are passionate about crafting exceptional quality ginger beers and with this grant we will be able to continue to do so while growing our business and being a proud contributor to our neighbourhood.
